Moore Park BeachGroup Leaders: Our Group Leaders hold a current blue card and have completed an induction training program that includes making sure the parents are actively involved in the session and the kids have fun.
Our Story: Kookaburras Kids Fitness was founded by the Moore Park Beach Sporting Association. Originally it started as a way to get more kids playing team sport in the small town of Moore Park Beach in Queensland. We then trialled the program at Innes Park and are now looking to establish additional groups in other small communities. We believe that providing the opportunity to train locally will allow more people to take part in regular activities. With growing obesity rates and more and more children (and parents) glued to their electronic devices, we need to provide more reasons to get outdoors, get active and socialise here in Moore Park Beach. Other ActivitiesJunior AFL Teams: We have two teams entered into the Bundaberg AFL Competition. Games are played on Friday nights from 5.30 pm against the ATW Eagles and Brothers Bulldogs. Each week the games are played in the same location alternating between ATW Ground and Brothers Ground. To join a team there is an additional cost of $55 for Under 8s and $82.50 for Under 10s. We currently have 15 registered players across both teams including children from Moore Park Beach, Gooburrum, Bundaberg North and even Wongarra State Schools.
Sunday Social Soccer: A pop up sporting event to encourage people of all ages to come along and have a kick. We make sure the teams are roughly equal and play two halves of about 20 minutes. Social BBQs: Informal get togethers with members, parents catching up with each other and the kids running around having a ball. Annual Celebration Day: A chance to recognise the progress and achievements of our members and their families. |
